Senior National Judo Championships to celebrate 75th Independence Anniversary.

Lucknow: 13.08.2022: Judo Association (UPJA), over the years, has come to be recognised as one of the greatest Organisational stalwarts of Judo in the country. Over a span of 28 years, with 16 National and 04 International Championships to its credit, UPJA has been hailed to have
organised some of the best JudoChampionships in the Country.UPJA has been working tirelessly, to promote Judo, and to bring
it at par with the other more favourite sports of the state. Working under the able guidance of Presidents like K.L. Gupta Ex. DGP, UPJA has succeeded in bringing out Judo from the unknown alleys to a place and
position of recognition, not only in the state but also in the country. TheAssociation also boasts of more than 500 National medallists, more than 50 International players, 01 Arjun Awardee and 03 Laxman Awardees.
This year is special as the entire nation is celebrating the 75th anniversary of our independence.
U.P. Judo Association, also celebrating the Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, is organising the Senior National Judo Championships at
Badminton Hall, K.D. Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow from 16th to 20th August 2022, under the Chairmanship of Mahesh Kumar Gupta IAS, and Additional Chief Secretary to Governor of U.P. More than 600 judokas and officials are expected to take part in this Grand event. JSW has kindly consented to be the Co–Sponsor of the Championships.
The participating states in this Championship are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Himanchal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra – A,
Maharashtra – B, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Orissa, Tripura, Telengana, Delhi, West Bengal, Punjab, Kerala, Jharkhand, Uttrakhand, Pondicherry, Madhya Pradesh,
Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, CRPF, CISF, BSF, ITBP, Railways all India sports control board and SSCB. Besides 1 Gold,1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals to be won in each category , 1 Best Judoka Men and 1 Best Judoka Women will be awarded. There will be a Winners and Runners up Trophy in the Men’s Section and the same in the Women’s Section. And of course!!, the Overall Trophy and Runners Up Trophy will be the most coveted Trophy to be won.
The U.P. Judokas are practising to the fullest and are confident to better the last
year results of 01 Silver a the Senior National Judo Championships at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
