CME on World Head and Neck Cancer Day.

A CME on World Head and Neck Cancer Day was organized at Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute, Lucknow on 27.07.2022 by the department of ENT. On this occasion, the program was started by lamp lighting ceremony by Prof. RK Dhiman, Director of the Institute. On this occasion, while addressing Prof. Dr.R.K. Dhiman emphasized that the number of patients suffering from head and neck cancer in our country is about 30 to 40 percent. He added that along with proper treatment of the disease, there is a need to make people aware for its prevention. Consumption of paan-masala, gutkha, tobacco etc. is one of the main causes of this disease, so there is a need to work at every level to run awareness campaign among people for its prevention. It was appealed by the director that the entire human society should avoid the consumption of paan-masala, gutkha, tobacco etc.
On this occasion, Dr. Indu Shukla, Assistant Professor, ENT Department, informed that at present the youth of country is coming under the grip of this deadly disease. For prevention of this disease, emphasis was given to avoid tobacco consumption and to immediately take consultation in case of any suspicion of disease. World Head and Neck Cancer Day is held annually on 27 July every year.
In the last for successful conduction of the program Prof. Anupam Verma, Chief Medical Superintendent gave heartful thanks to organizing team and participants.
