Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal give fiery start to India, against Bangladesh

India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test match 4thDay, India declares on 285/9

Kanpur 30th Sep. (TGP), On the fourth day of the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur, India made a remarkable effort to push for a result despite losing two full days of play to rain. Bangladesh, resuming their first innings at 107/3, managed to post a total of 233, largely due to Mominul Haque’s unbeaten 107. India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin, wrapped up the Bangladesh innings quickly after the rain delays subsided.

India responded aggressively, adopting a fast-paced approach reminiscent of “Bazball” cricket (aggressive, positive brand of cricket). They smashed records, scoring at 8.22 runs per over. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma set the tone with an opening partnership that brought up 50 runs in just 18 balls. Jaiswal scored a rapid 72, while Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli kept up the attacking momentum. India declared at 285/9, giving Bangladesh a 26-run deficit to start their second innings.

Bangladesh ended the day at 26/2, with Ashwin taking two quick wickets. India is in a strong position heading into the final day, needing eight wickets to secure a series win
