KGMU Celebrates Pediatric Surgery day.

Lucknow: The Department of Pediatric Surgery celebrated Pediatric Surgery Day in the new OPD complex on 29th of December at King George Medical University. The day is celebrated because Pediatric Surgery became a separate speciality on this day in 1965.
The theme of this year’s Pediatric Surgery day was to create awareness about it and also to spread awareness about neonatal health insurance. The parents were informed about health insurance for their children by the Solution firm. They were also taught about various types of congenital malformation and proper management by Pediatric Surgeons. A question-answer session was also conducted at the end of the awareness campaign to clear the doubts. Gifts were also distributed among the children’s.
The function was presided over by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Bipin Puri. Dr. SN Kureel, Dr. Anand Pandey, and Dr. Nitin Pant also shared their views about awareness. The Head of the Department Dr. JD Rawat explained about the need for surgery by Pediatric Surgeons. The picture of various types of congenital anomalies and their treatment was also explained to the audience.
On this occasion, a cake cutting ceremony also took place. Children along with their parents participated in this celebration and enjoyed the moment.
